Reviews Overview

Most Liked

Patrons rave about The Royal’s excellent beer selection, featuring a range of real ales and craft beers that cater to diverse tastes. The pub’s calming atmosphere makes it perfect for family gatherings or casual meet-ups with friends. Many appreciate the spacious beer garden, which is ideal for sunny days. The dog-friendly policy adds to its charm, allowing furry companions to join in on the fun. Regular quiz nights and live music keep the entertainment fresh and engaging, creating a lively vibe that draws people back week after week. The friendly staff earns high marks for their welcoming demeanor, making visitors feel right at home.

Most Disliked

Some visitors note that peak times can lead to crowded conditions, particularly on Wednesday evenings when the pub is at full capacity. While the atmosphere during busy hours is vibrant, it may be less appealing for those seeking a quieter dining experience. A few customers have mentioned that reservations are recommended during popular times, yet not always available due to high demand. Occasionally, the variety in menu selections can feel limited, especially for vegetarian or vegan diners. The wait for food during peak hours may be longer than expected, so planning around busy times is key to enjoying the full Royal experience.

Booked the doghouse room upstairs for a private party. Communication was great and answered all my questions. We had access the morning of the party to set up. The room looked amazing. Lovely decor, from the tables to the buffet food. There was so much food and a wide variety. Frankie was on the bar and was so friendly to all the guests. I would highly recommend hiring the room. So glad I chose there

Very pleased to find a proper pub within (just about) walking distance from where we live. The beer garden is decent and the interior has plenty of period fixtures and fitting with lots of charm. How pubs used to be!
